Tassos Markas, Ph.D., leads the Software Innovation & Incubation programs within Lenovo’s Cloud & Software division. Under his leadership, the team is developing groundbreaking solutions in generative AI, scalable software platforms, and computer vision applications. Previously, Tassos founded and led multiple startups, creating disruptive software solutions and building ecosystems for 3D and VR content. During his time in the semiconductor industry, he conceptualized and delivered multimedia products that integrated hardware, software, and system design to enhance imaging, video, and communication performance. His leadership in product strategy and market execution drove widespread adoption by major OEMs and helped shape modern multimedia experiences. He has conceptualized products and solutions for emerging markets, built and managed organizations to develop them, and led cross-functional teams to bring them successfully to market. His innovations have been integrated into hundreds of products—including PCs, smartphones, and smart devices—impacting both consumer and commercial applications. Tassos holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Duke University and a B.S. in Physics from the University of Athens. His expertise spans entrepreneurship, AI, AR/VR, computer vision, 3D technologies, and semiconductors.
