Prof. Spiros N. Pollalis

Prof. Spiros N. Pollalis is President of Athens College, a position he also held from 2010-2017. Prof. Pollalis focuses on maintaining the tradition of the emblematic institution while bring innovations as Athens College enters its second century. He has been instrumental in reinstituting the 1927 founding law in all school units of Athens College and empowering the academic programs by its implementation, in emphasizing skills and critical thinking by strengthening the IB Programs from Kindergarten to the Diploma. He encourages the use of technology in both education and administration, and in engaging Fulbright Fellows at various academic positions in the school. Spiros N. Pollalis is Professor Emeritus of Design, Technology and Management at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. After graduating from the National Technical University of Athens, he continued his studies in the US and received his PhD from MIT and his MBA from Northeastern University. He has taught as a Visiting Professor at universities in Greece, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. His research has focused on urban planning, environment and regional development. He has developed EnvisionĀ® for rating the sustainability of infrastructure, widely used in the US public works and all over the world.
