Georgios Giaples is an AI & Robotics Engineer and Spatial Planning Manager based in Athens, Greece (born 1995). He specializes in developing AI-powered solutions for renewable energy and autonomous systems. Currently at kIEFER TEK LTD since October 2020, he leads spatial analysis system development and manages robotics product portfolios including UAV-based inspection and autonomous surveying solutions. His key achievements include developing proprietary SLAM algorithms, creating AR applications for 3D spatial visualization, and implementing machine learning models for thermal anomaly detection in photovoltaic systems. He also designed autonomous UAV systems for infrastructure mapping and built computer vision algorithms for automated defect detection. Previously, as a GIS Engineer at GeoAnalysis S.A. (2018-2020), he developed automated GIS processing tools using machine learning for Greece & National Cadastral Project and created AI-enhanced spatial databases. His expertise spans advanced Python coding, deep learning, computer vision, ROS, UAV systems, SLAM algorithms, and spatial data analysis. He holds a Master & in Spatial Planning from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2013-2021) and is pursuing a Master & in Energy Systems from University of West Attica & Heriot-Watt University (2022- present).
