Kostas C. Argyropoulos

General Counsel SPACE HELLAS GROUP, Chief Legal & Compliance Officer

Kostas C. Argyropoulos is the General Counsel of SPACE HELLAS Group, digital integrator, and value-add service provider, with an international presence in the field of electronic communications, it, software, and security. He has a wide experience of more than twenty-five years as an in-house legal counselor in the ICT market both in a national and in an international level, through the presence of SPACE HELLAS Group in Greece, Cyprus, Malta, Serbia, Romania, the Netherlands, and Jordan. He contributed as a speaker in various conferences with the scope to explore and understand technology and has taken initiatives for the digitalization of legal departments and the creation of technology oriented legal teams.

His recent speeches related to AI and technology are; a) Oct 2023, Law in Action, Athens: “Ethics & Governance of AI systems in legal practice”, b) Sep. 2023, ECLA 40th anniversary forum, Frankfurt: “Integrating Advanced LLMs in Legal Practice: ChatGPT and the next steps in digitalization”, c) Oct 2019, ACC Legal Ops Europe, Frankfurt: “Making Technology Work for You”.

He has published various articles in cyberspace law, data protection, public procurement, capital markets and corporate governance. He represented the “Association of Information Technology and Communications Companies” (“SEPE”) of Greece in the International Telecommunications Union (ITU, 2003 - 2005) as a member of the working group: “Impact of the convergence of telecommunication, broadcasting and information technology”. He was a member of the working group of experts in the National Telecommunications & Post Commission of Greece (EETT, 2002) with a scope to prepare a presentation paper as regards the legal framework of the domain names.  In March 1999 he presented at Harvard Law School his research “Transfers of Personal Data to the USA; Applying Articles 25 and 26 of the EU Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC”.  In 1998 he published several articles in the Greek newspaper “TO BHMA” (Sunday edition) related to constitutional issues in telecommunications and the internet.  He is a scientific collaborator in the legal review “TECHNOLOGY & COMMUNICATIONS LAW”, Nomiki Bibliothiki.  He is the author of : “Legislation in telecommunications” (2000) and “Les Autoroutes de la Communication auregard de Protection des Libertés Publiques” (1998).

He graduated from the Law School of the University of Athens (1993) and concluded his post graduatestudies at the University of Paris II – Panthéon Assas (1995) and Harvard Law School (1999).
